Cinnamon Swirl Rolls

About the Recipe

These cinnamon rolls skip the yeast and rise time, making them quicker while still teaching dough-shaping techniques.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ¾ cup milk

  • ¼ cup melted butter


For the filling:

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder together.

  2. Add the milk and melted butter and bring the dough together.

  3. Roll the dough into a rectangle.

  4. Spread butter and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over it.

  5. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 8 pieces.

  6. Place on a baking tray and bake at 180°C for 18–20 minutes.

  7. Serve warm, optionally with icing.
